State Funding & South Jersey …
Not Getting Our Fair Piece of the Pie
· It has long been speculated that South Jersey, in comparison to the rest of the State, does not receive a representative share of public funding.
· Professor Michael Hayes’ study, “Our Piece of the Pie: The Distribution of State Funds to Municipalities Across NJ Regions,” provides the first empirical data to prove that the perceived disparity in funding is real.
· His study found South Jersey’s most economically distressed municipalities receive significantly less state funding assistance than similarly distressed areas in other parts of the State.
· The Cumberland County Chambers of Commerce invite you to learn more about the study and to start the discussion of what can be done.
